Iris Mobile Privacy Policy
Iris is designed as a private, local-first work journal. This policy describes how the mobile app handles account data, journal content, voice transcription, AI processing, reminders, and subscriptions.
Local journal data
Raw journal entries, organized notes, and saved summaries are stored on your device. Iris does not store journal entries in a Supabase database. If you delete Iris or lose the device before exporting or backing up your data, local journal data may be permanently lost.
Account and settings data
Iris uses Supabase for authentication and account management. Supabase may store your email address, profile record, and non-sensitive settings such as reminder preferences needed to operate the app.
AI processing
When you choose an AI feature, selected journal content or a short voice recording is sent to an Iris Supabase Edge Function for temporary processing. The function sends the content to the configured AI provider and returns a transcript, organized notes, or summaries to the app. Iris does not save raw journal requests, voice recordings, or AI responses in Supabase tables.
Reminders and notifications
Iris can schedule local work-log reminders if you enable them. Notification permissions are controlled by your device settings. Reminder settings may be stored with your account so the app can remember your preferences.
Subscriptions
Iris uses RevenueCat to manage Iris Plus purchase status and subscription entitlements. RevenueCat may process purchase identifiers and entitlement status so Iris can unlock paid features.
Data controls
The mobile app includes controls to delete local journal data from your device. The Account screen includes an account deletion control that removes your Iris account, profile, settings, subscription entitlement records, and AI usage metadata. Subscription cancellation may still require action through Apple, Google, or your app store account depending on how you purchased Iris.
